Chi-Chi-Chi-le-le-le, Viva Chile!

Last Sunday I went to a partido de futbol (soccer match) with Elin and Allison. It was a partido amistoso (friendly match) meaning that it really didn't matter who won. The game was Chile vs Estonia and as we made our way into the stadium we quickly realized that we were the only non-Chileans there. For the first time people did not assume that we were American and were asked several times if we were Estonian, to which we quickly replied yes. Even though the stadium wasn't full, loud chants and catcall whistles (which we decided is the only way Chileans know how to whistle) continued for the whole game. I had a great time even though Estonia (the team we were supposedly rooting for) lost 4-0!

Wine Tour

In 5 weeks from today I will be arriving in the airport in Philly and beginning to settle into life in New Jersey again. I'm not quite ready to think about that yet and plan on filling my last weeks here with as much as I can including upcoming trips to San Pedro de Atacama and Machu Picchu, hopefully a ski trip, and the release of the final Harry Potter movie! School is actually starting to get busy and I'm trying to squeeze in one more weekend trip.
This past Sunday I went on a wine tour for the first time with Allison and Naty, and had a great time! They gave us a free wine glass and I bought a bottle of Chilean carmenara wine, hopefully they will both make it safely home in my suitcase.

The Andes

Every Tuesday and Thursday morning on my walk to work (if it's not too smoggy or cloudy) I catch glimpses of the Andes rising from behind tall apartment buildings. This morning I was surprised by the absolutely breathtaking view of snow on the mountains! Unfortunately I forgot my camera today but I'll post pictures soon. Its amazing that I'm living in a huge city at the foot of the longest and second tallest mountain range in the world.
